Balkan Criminology participated at the European Symposium on Detention Houses that was held on 20 & 21 March 2024 in Brussels, Belgium. The Symposium brought together diverse perspectives and expertise from across Europe, sharing knowledge about inspirational practices, addressing significant challenges and most of all, fostering a community committed to justice reform. Prof. Dr. Anna-Maria Getoš Kalac attended the Symposium and shared her insights into imprisonment practices in the region, while gathering impactful insights on small-scale detention alternatives and practices from across Europe.
